Through our education program, we aim to:
  • Foster the artistic awareness of contemporary art practice in communities across Australia.
  • Prepare and present quality education material for each exhibition.
  • Increase school group participation.

Each ART ON THE MOVE exhibition is accompanied by a custom designed and written education package which includes extensive notes for educators and students, a catalogue, a poster, other information and activity sheets. ART ON THE MOVE offers EDUCATION EVENTS such as our Smarter than Smoking ARTBUS which provides subsidised bus travel for distant or remote school groups and our Smarter than Smoking ARTIST ON THE MOVE program which provides free exhibition artist's talks in schools and galleries.

Year 2 students from Our Lady, Star of the Sea Primary School in Esperance enjoy an activity at the  Cannery Arts Centre with Hotspot artist Barbie Greenshields.

Teachers can download an excursion template for use with school excursions to Art on the Move Smarter than Smoking education events.


Healthway are offering sponsorship of up to $2500 to Western Australian Schools through the Health in Schools Through the Arts (HISTA) program that aims to develop visual arts activities that are designed to address a specific health issue.

EDUCATION OFFICER

Hi, I'm Lisa Young, ART ON THE MOVE'S Education Officer. I am a Visual Arts teacher with 19 years teaching experience at Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels.

I can assist you in delivering your visual arts program by providing links to the work of Western Australian artists and organising events for your school in association with our exhibitions.

I am in the office on Monday and Thursday and am available to answer any questions about ART ON THE MOVE's exhibitions or our Education Program.
